Work Permit Bulgaria
Non EU/EAA
They are entitled to employment in Republic of Bulgaria only after receiving an NEA Work Permit. Work Permit could be granted only to individuals possessing skills, specialized knowledge, which are required but could not be found on the national labour market. Work Permit is only issued upon an employer request – physical or legal entity, either registered in accordance to the Bulgarian legislation, or a party in international treaty as employer of the foreign physical and legal entity.
EU/EAA or Swiss citizens
Foreigners – EU/EAA or Swiss citizens and members of their families can work in Bulgaria without the issue of NEA Work Permit. They have to make a registration as jobseekers in Employment Office. We are in the process of updating some content on this section in the light of the UK’s departure from the EU. If the section contains content that does not yet reflect this development, it is unintentional and will be addressed.
Study Visa Bulgaria
Nationals of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland can freely move to Bulgaria and stay for as long as they like. If you’re not from one of these countries, then you’ll probably need a visa to enter Bulgaria. If you do need a visa to enter Bulgaria to study, you’ll need to get a D-type visa. Requirements can vary from country to country, but this is generally what you’ll need to get a Bulgarian study visa:
- Your passport
- Two passport-sized photos
- Medical insurance valid across the whole of the EU
- Bank statements showing financial self-sufficiency.
- Tickets for your travel to Bulgaria
- Photocopies of any previous Bulgarian or Schengen visas
- Proof of admission to a Bulgarian school
- You’ll need to present your documents in-person at your nearest Bulgarian embassy or consulate.
- You’ll need to present your documents in the original language & with a notarized Bulgarian translation.
